NDS’ Model Paint Stripper is an environmentally-friendly, biodegradable, pH neutral and fume free alternative to other paint strippers currently used by wargaming and model enthusiasts.
It is excellent at removing acrylic and enamel paint from plastic, resin and metal models (we have mainly tested on GW products but are confident this will work on any type of model without causing any damage to them). It also removes PVA glue but not plastic or metal glue so you can rebase models without having to reassemble them.
For plastic and resin models we recommend immersing the model(s) in undiluted Model Paint Stripper overnight before using a small brush and running water to brush off any remaining loose paint. There may be some areas where paint hasn’t been entirely removed, we recommend repeating the process by brushing onto the area with paint remaining (you can use the same solution). Warning – repeated exposure to the neat product will eventually cause plastic to soften so please be careful. When brushing plastic and resin models please be careful, they are delicate!
For metal models the solution can be diluted down 1:4 with water and still be effective, meaning a 1ltr bottle will make 4ltrs of paint stripper. Follow the same steps as above.
Model Paint Stripper can also be used with an ultrasonic bath in a 10% solution at room temperature. It should strip the model in about 15-25 minutes, depending on the paint.
The Model Paint Stripper is a blend of environmentally-friendly, non-hazardous solvents and surfactants which creates a micro-emulsion when diluted with water. The micro-emulsion has chemical affinity for paint and is effective at removing it from surfaces.
As the Model Paint Stripper is highly concentrated it does carry warning labels – please read the warning labels before use.
